The Agonist White Frontignac

A palate filled with tropical fruit. The finish has texture and minerality, with long palate length

Lychee, pear, and fragrant, tropical fruit. Pineapple and quince. Floral notes of jasmine and blossom.

Stuffed zucchini flowers with roquette and orange salad or Turkey breast with pine nuts and preserved lemon.

The Grapes are grown at the Temple Bruer Vineyard in Loxton North, where the vines are approximately 9 years old. The soil is sand over clay subsoils with lime, providing this wine with lovely fruit-forward flavours. Picking was on the 28th Feburary 2020 in the cool of the morning to retain aromatics.

As the fruit arrived at the winery it was crushed, cooled to 5ºC and pressed gently through a membrane press. The juice was then cold settled overnight and racked the following day. The juice was then warmed slightly to 12ºC inoculated with yeast and a cool fermentation commenced the day after. The fermentation lasted approximately 2 weeks. The wine was then kept on lees and lees stirred for two months. This was done to provide texture in the wine which balances the fruit-forward flavour rs of white frontignac. The wine was then bottled early September 2020.

2020 saw a long growing season for our Riverland vineyards which meant acidity, and good fruit balance. An overall late start to vintage, as cooler conditions were seen throughout the ripening season. Lovely retention of varietal characters show through in the wines.
